Brew Coffee with a Hario V60
The Hario V60 is an outstanding brew method specifically designed for anybody who is yearning for a clean, luscious cup of coffee. Also practical for day to day life, easy to clean and portable.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Hario V60 brewer
- Hario V60 filter paper cones
- Grinder (if using beans)
- Ground coffee or beans
- Hot water
- Scale
- Time
- Mug
- Kettle
- Water (ideally soft or bottled)

LET’S GET STARTED
STEP
01
Fold and rinse
Fold the filter into a cone shape and place it on the brewer. Rinse the paper with water just off the boil to eliminate paper flavor and to pre heat the chamber you are brewing into. Swirl and discard the water.

Measure and grind
Measure and grind your coffee to be about fine as kosher salt then Add coffee grounds carefully to the center of the filter paper.

Distribute
Once the coffee is added, shake the grounds to evenly distribute and to ensure an even saturation.

Weigh and pour
Keep the brewer on a scale and bring a kettle of water to 93 degree Celsius. Turn the timer on and begin the blooming stage by pouring 60ml of water.

Post-bloom
After 30 seconds, begin pouring 195ml of the remaining water slowly but steadily. Make sure to saturate the grounds evenly.

Final pour
After 1 minute, finish the pour by pouring the final 195ml of water in the same circular motion. By now you will reach the targeted milliliters of water.

Once the brewed coffee has drained completely, remove the top part from the decanter and enjoy your well earned coffee.
